This Strawberry French Toast Roll Ups are amazing treat for anyone that loves french toast, they are so easy to make and they are delicious. This fantastic recipe for French Toast Roll Ups by Crouton Crackerjacks is something that you must try. Some basic ingredients a little bit of free time and you are go to go. This recipe is perfect as it is but what I will recommend as a big nutella lover is to try and substitute the cheese with nutella, for me this is also a very good combination.
Ingredients: (for 12 roll ups)
12 slices white sandwich bread
1/2 pint fresh strawberries
4 oz cream cheese
1/4 cup powdered sugar (icing sugar)
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp milk
3 tsp granulated sugar, divided
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Have your rinsed strawberry roughly chopped into small pieces and put them into a bowl, add 1 tsp sugar and mix the sugar with the strawberry.
In another bowl add the cream cheese previously softened in your microwave for about 10 sec. Add 1/4 cup powdered sugar and stir it well.
With rolling pin flatten your white bread slices and then cut of the crust. Take about a teaspoon of your cream cheese mixture and spread it the on the flatten .
On top of the bread slices add about one spoonful of your strawberries. Roll up the bread around the cream cheese and strawberries. Continue with all remaining bread slices.
In another shallow bowl, whisk two eggs with 2 Tbsp of milk, add the remaining two teaspoons of your sugar and add 1/4 tsp cinnamon.
Add a bit of oil and a pat of butter on a preheated griddle or nonstick pan over medium heat. Dip your rolls in the eggs and place seam side down. When they turn browned, turn them and continue until all sides of the roll are nicely browned.
If desired dust your roll ups with powdered sugar and top with more strawberries.
