Very simple to make chocolate rainbow surprise cake, it’s just perfect for birthdays and surprise parties. This delicious mix of chocolate and white colorful cakes is something that you must try. After making this cake I can point out just thing, make sure you use a cake mix that only uses water, egg and oil like one’s from Betty Crocker. With other mixture colors are just not the same, chocolate batter sometimes can overpower the colors.
• Chocolate Cake Mix (Mix batter per box directions)
• White Cake Mix (Mix batter per box directions)
• Food coloring – 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green, & 1 blue (Or Gel food paste colors)
• Cake Frosting (see this amazing recipe for buttercream frosting)
• Multi-colored sprinkles
Mix your Chocolate Cake and White Cake ingredients per directions on box.
Divide evenly the white cake mix batter into four bowls.
Add your food coloring to each bowl. You can start by adding just one drop and then mix, add more food coloring to get the desired color. Always color your food by adding small amount of color, remember you can add more but you can’t take it out. Add only half of your chocolate cake mix batter into a greased pan according to box directions. Next add with spoon your red colored white cake mix batter. Start from the middle of your cake and gradually add the red batter with circles motions into the chocolate. Gradually go around your pan with placing the batter in and let the batter slowly mix into the chocolate batter. Wherever it falls, it falls. Next do the same thing with your yellow-colored, green-colored and the blue-colored white cake mix batter. Add the other half of your chocolate cake mix batter on top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350F (175C). Let your cake cool for five min before you flip it over onto plate. Set aside your cake for at least 1 hour before piping your frosting. Pipe chocolate, blue, red, and yellow frosting onto your cake and add sprinkles on top.
