This recipe for Apple Pie by Grandma Ople is the best apple pie recipe that I have tried in my life. Period. After trying this magnificent creation it make sense to me why this recipe has won so many first prizes in a lot of different competitions. It pastry crust and juicy apple filling is sooo delicious, I just can’t get enough of this beauty. One advice that I thinks is important, mix the syrup with the apples rather than trying to pour into the pie but of course save enough to glaze top crust. For the syrup that you have saved make sure that it is hot or it will thicken up on you. If you ever trying to impress someone make this pie, they will be impressed trust me. One more advice, Grandma Ople was right this pie doesn’t need vanilla, cinnamon and/or nutmeg. In fact, those extra ingredients just ruin the subtlety of the flavour and overpower it. Really, this recipe is perfect the way it is.
